Graphic Tee…

By | Style | No Comments

Hey Ladies!

Its officially the freakin’ weekend! A graphic tee is the right piece to build an outfit around on a Saturday. Graphic tees go great with so many pieces; your favorite pair of jeans, that bomb skirt you’ve been dying to wear, leggings, slacks for a more tailored look, shorts, overalls….you get my point.

I typically always begin with my shirt when building my looks. For me its always the most difficult piece to decide on so thats why I start with it. Thats what makes the graphic tee even more appealing…they can go with anything. They can totally coordinate with your bottom as far as the color you pull from but they don’t have to. Either way you the graphic tee is almost “outfit screw up proof!” Its almost as if the less it coordinates with the bottom the better because its unexpected.

Now with all that being said (insert side eye) I decided to coordinate my graphic tee with my bottom on this look only because I was going for a monochromatic vibe. The pants are so dope. High waisted and wide leg I wanted to make sure I did them justice…LOL!

How would you rock your graphic tee?

Pleats + Tiers

Hi Ladies!
Last week I was invited to attend an event. The women in attendance were required to wear white. But here was my dilemma the event was during the day and indoors. If you know me you know that ’m always cold. So because the temperatures in Nashville lately have been close to 100 degrees daily I figured the a/c temperature would be close to frigid inside the building where the event was being held.

So I found this pretty little number on asos.com. It was just right for the occasion. Its beautiful but also functional. Meaning it has long sleeves, but the fabric is light enough in weight where I knew I wouldn’t freeze; but not too heavy so I also would not burn up! The layers and the pleats speak lady but also not too serious for such a fun and inspiring event.

I went with a simple clutch in a beautiful light yellow color.  Keeping with the fresh and light feel of the dress.  The clutch is a nice compliment.  Black would have been too harsh.  Keep accessories light and airy for summertime.

White is always a good choice when attending daytime events. What are some of your go-to fashion choices when you have to attend functions during the day?

Blazer + Joggers

Hi Ladies!

Who else is still here for the jogger trend? I am!! What I love about joggers is that you can dress them up or down. You can rock them with tennis shoes to run errands or while enjoying weekend activities. Personally my favorite way to wear them is with a heel. This look is perfect for a casual Friday dress day at work. The blazer and low sandal with the heel gives the professional vibe. And the joggers are casual and comfortable also very fashion forward.

Now there is a caveat when wearing joggers to work even on a casual Friday. They need to be a nice pair of joggers. Not too tight, not too bright and definitely good quality. I love these by Kenzo. They’re black, high-end and they don’t hug the boo-tay too…LOL!!!

You know the drill by now. I’ve tagged the items i’m wearing below.

Summer Vibes…

By | Style | 4 Comments

Hi Ladies!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer. Mine seems to be moving pretty quickly. I’ve been busy traveling and spending as much time as I can with family and friends. The older I get the less time it seems I have to enjoy the things that matter most. I find myself constantly trying to slow father time down. I have to force myself to “stop and smell the roses” as they say.

I’m also trying to go full on vegetarian. I haven’t had any meat for the past week. It hasn’t been as difficult as I thought it would be. But its still early…LOL! I’m praying I can keep it up. I have already noticed a difference in my energy level as well as my skin. I’ve purchased some new vegetarian cook books. I plan on spending the rest of the summer learning new recipes and really dedicating myself to a new way of eating.

What have you all been up to this summer? Any big changes? I would love to hear whats going on in your world. Feel fee to leave a comment below.

As usual the items i’m wearing and or inspiration pieces are linked below.

Back-Out Maxi

Hi Ladies!

I really wanted to do something different to highlight this beautiful maxi dress. So my photographer and I decided to shoot in the park. And i’m so glad we did! It was the perfect backdrop to show off the beauty of this dress. I was attracted to the simplicity of the dress as well as the movement. It just flows when you walk. Not to mention the back is just stunning. Its sexy without being revealing. Its also timeless without being dated. I’m in love with this dress. The hardware on the dress is gorgeous as well.

This dress can take you from day to night. Its perfect for all of our summertime occasions. Whether you’re spending the day in the park on a day date, lunch with girlfriends or attending a outdoor summer wedding. A dress like this is perfect for so many events.

It’s no longer available but I included a few similar options below.

Hi Ladies!

Checking in with you all from NYC! I love this city so much. My kiddos and I came in town for a quick get away. I was also able to shoot while here which was a huge bonus. My goal is to definitely start coming to NYC monthly to shoot. The city has so much character and such a cool vibe.

The kiddos and I hit up all of our favorite food spots. We did some shopping as well. Surprisingly I did not go over budget this time…LOL!

This look is definitely NYC inspired. I’ve linked items i’m wearing or similar options below.  The handbag is Chanel which of course is not available for online purchase.

After the movies I went out to dinner with a friend. What do you all have planned for today?

Tomorrow is Father’s Day as well. So Happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing dads out there who understand how important it is to be a great example to your children!

Tiered Maxi

Hi Ladies!

JCrew has done it again with their classic twist on a trend. Stripes are everywhere for spring and summer. So much so that I said I wasn’t going to purchase any more striped pieces for the rest of the season. That was until I laid eyes on this dress. I like the fact that its on trend but in a classic way. Thats what I love about J Crew. Whenever I’m looking for something on trend but not trendy (because there is a difference) I know I can’t go wrong with JCrew.

The tiers add a whimsical feel. I also like the fact that it has a belt. Makes the waist look a little more snatched…LOL! Oh and another thing I was happy with was that I didn’t have to have the dress altered. The length was perfect…WIN!!

I’ve linked the dress below.

Happy Monday!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, mine was life changing. I attended a conference outside of Atlanta this weekend with a friend. The conference was put on by Kim Jones-Pothier, “Real Talk Kim.” She’s a pastor in Fayetteville, Ga. The theme of the conference was, “Straight Outta Excuses.” When I tell you an on time word was delivered just for me. I feel rejuvenated, refocused and most of all ready!

I can’t tell you how difficult some days are as a entrepreneur and single mother of two children. Some days I just wonder why are things so difficult, some days are just plain hard. But I was reminded this weekend that tough times are seasons unless we choose to make them a sentence! God will and does make provisions for our gifts. I needed to be reminded of that. So I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. And if you are feeling discouraged, exhausted, or just helpless to pick yourself back up and try again. Nothing worth having is going to come easy. God has placed ALL that you need to walk out your purpose inside of you. So strut on and make it happen.

I chose to feature this look because its fierce. I thought it was perfect to kick off the great week we’re all going to have!

Bold Stripes

Hi Ladies!

Its almost the weekend and i’m so ready for it. I’ve been super busy this week preparing for a quick weekend get-a-way. I’m really looking forward to a change of scenery. Its just what I need to recharge and regroup. I’ve been running like a crazy woman for the past few months. A few days away could not have come at a better time.

I’m working in the office all day today catching up on paperwork before I leave tomorrow. If I went to an office everyday the dress i’m wearing is one I would rock. Its professional but yet effortlessly chic. Its oversized but not too much where there is no structure. I really like the bold alternating stripes as well. And lets talk about the sleeves!!! How awesome are they?

I’ve linked the dress and heels below.
