Street Style #NYFW

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!

Have you all been keeping up with all of the fashion shows and events during New York Fashion Week?! I’m certain i’ve doubled the time I normally spend on instagram trying to keep up with all of the action. Whats your favorite part of #NYFW? My favorite are the street style shots! I love the individuality and the carefree feel of these images. So I decided to give you a street style #NYFW inspired look to kick off the week.

I started with the pants and then added the other pieces from there. I love the retro feel of these Zara leggings. The high waist and the split in the front sold them for me. I knew that I wanted to add some more color so I went with this cool Bob Marley tee from UrbanOutfitters. I finished the look off with a long cardigan and my metallic Gucci heels and DONE!

Street Style is so much fun. Play around in your closet. Mix and match your pieces together. Rock your tennis shoes with your pencil skirt. Add a beret to your suit and a cross body bag. There are so many ways to achieve street style. The possibilities are endless.

Flared for Fall

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!

The early mornings you can catch me stopping by my favorite (very clean) gas station in my hood for coffee (don’t judge me..LOL). The fact that lately the mornings have just enough chill in the air to enjoy a cup of coffee without feeling like an inferno is just wonderful. So this sister is ready to welcome Fall with open arms!

Fall is my most favorite season. Its the season for sweaters, boots and booties, cool coats and jackets all while trying to find the right balance of layering. I’ve started my Fall shopping and I can’t wait to post some of the pieces i’m in love with so far. Have you purchased any items for autumn that you’re eager to style?

The look i’m wearing in these images highlights one of my denim buys. I can’t get enough of flare trousers or jeans. If you’ve followed me on instagram for a while now i’m sure you come to that conclusion. Its something about the fit as well as the flow that has me hooked. They also make me look taller than I actually am so thats a bonus.

I chose this long sleeved blouse that I’ve had for sometime now. I like it because although the sleeves are long the material is lightweight which makes it a perfect Fall transition piece. The floral motif is breathtaking. So girly and flirty which pairs nicely with this style jean.

I’ve linked a couple of options for similar denim below.

Labor Day Weekend!

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!

What are your plans for the Labor Day Weekend? I always use this weekend to transition my closet from Summer to Fall. Its a long weekend so the extra day is needed to get it all done and organized. I live in TN so the challenge for me is that our hot days last a little longer than most.

Nashville is beautiful, but are summers can be hot and humid and for a long time. Last year the weather did not turn consistently cold until early November.
But even if we have a 80 degree day something about a sundress just seems wrong after this weekend…LOL! Feels like a fashion faux pas in my opinion.

This off the shoulder number i’m wearing is he perfect piece to rock this weekend . It can be paired with jeans, a pencil skirt or shorts as I’ve chosen. I feel in love with the detail of the sleeves. These are not your mama ruffles! These ruffles are dramatic and extra!

The black makes it ideal for day or night. You can wear a heel for more dressy look for the evening. Or throw on a flat sandal for daytime.

The top is sale right now. So if you like it you need to click on over to ShopBop (link below) and grab yours!

Pink Out!

Hi Ladies!

Its Friday and i’m so thrilled about it! I’ve been traveling for the last week so i’m looking forward to catching up on some work this weekend. I always need a couple of days to get back into my routine whenever I return from a long trip.

On another note, isn’t this look killer?! If you like the top or pants i’m wearing you’re in luck because both of them are on sale. Both items can transition into Fall as well. You can throw a blazer or a long cardigan over the top. And the pants can be paired with pretty much any top you chose. So don’t shy away from purchasing because summer is coming to an end.

Happy Weekend!

Floral Duster

By | Style | No Comments

Hello Ladies!

Summer’s quickly coming to an end. So i’m rocking as much white as I can as often as I can. You know the rule…no white after Labor Day. Do you all follow that rule? Or do you wear white all year long? I myself won’t wear white bottoms during the fall or winter. But I will wear a white pair of shoes during the colder months.

The look i’m wearing can be pulled off by each and everyone of us. We all have a white tank in our closet as well as a white pair of jeans. I like wearing all white because its so chic and fresh. Its also very slimming and makes us vertically challenged folks look a lot taller…LOL!

I added this beautiful floral duster I purchased during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I was drawn to it because its more tailored than your typical duster. This one has more structure which is perfect for the office.

I finished off the look with my favorite Alexander Wang sandals. This look is perfect to take you from day to evening. Loose the duster and the look becomes more sexy.

Floral Print Maxi

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!

I’m back with another maxi dress! I just can’t get enough of maxi dresses this season. They’re so feminine and versatile at the same time. The floral print of this particular maxi caught my attention. I also fell in love with the soft mint green color. I’ll be honest I don’t normally gravitate towards meant green clothing. But because it was the base color with the floral motif on top it just works.

I’m a sucker for pleats as well. They are such a pretty addition to this dress. I think they add just the right amount of flare to the dress without being over the top.

What are some of your favorite dresses you’ve been wearing this summer?

Pink Gingham

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!

Can you believe we’re already into August?! Like where the heck has the summer gone? I still have summer clothes with tags on them that I haven’t worn yet? So with that being said i’ll be trying my best to get out of the house to rock some of my favorite new pieces during this last official month of summer.

One of those pieces is this beautiful gingham dress. Gingham is one of those motif’s that is always in style and always relevant. The colors or the size of the pattern may change but basically gingham is always a good idea.

I like that this dress is a one shoulder and the gingham pattern is bright making it perfect for summer. Its light weight which also makes it comfortable to wear. Lastly, the sash around the waist keeps if fresh, fun and flirty.

What are some items you still want to rock before summer ends?!

Graphic Tee…

By | Style | No Comments

Hey Ladies!

Its officially the freakin’ weekend! A graphic tee is the right piece to build an outfit around on a Saturday. Graphic tees go great with so many pieces; your favorite pair of jeans, that bomb skirt you’ve been dying to wear, leggings, slacks for a more tailored look, shorts, overalls….you get my point.

I typically always begin with my shirt when building my looks. For me its always the most difficult piece to decide on so thats why I start with it. Thats what makes the graphic tee even more appealing…they can go with anything. They can totally coordinate with your bottom as far as the color you pull from but they don’t have to. Either way you the graphic tee is almost “outfit screw up proof!” Its almost as if the less it coordinates with the bottom the better because its unexpected.

Now with all that being said (insert side eye) I decided to coordinate my graphic tee with my bottom on this look only because I was going for a monochromatic vibe. The pants are so dope. High waisted and wide leg I wanted to make sure I did them justice…LOL!

How would you rock your graphic tee?

Pleats + Tiers

By | Style | No Comments

Hi Ladies!
Last week I was invited to attend an event. The women in attendance were required to wear white. But here was my dilemma the event was during the day and indoors. If you know me you know that ’m always cold. So because the temperatures in Nashville lately have been close to 100 degrees daily I figured the a/c temperature would be close to frigid inside the building where the event was being held.

So I found this pretty little number on asos.com. It was just right for the occasion. Its beautiful but also functional. Meaning it has long sleeves, but the fabric is light enough in weight where I knew I wouldn’t freeze; but not too heavy so I also would not burn up! The layers and the pleats speak lady but also not too serious for such a fun and inspiring event.

I went with a simple clutch in a beautiful light yellow color.  Keeping with the fresh and light feel of the dress.  The clutch is a nice compliment.  Black would have been too harsh.  Keep accessories light and airy for summertime.

White is always a good choice when attending daytime events. What are some of your go-to fashion choices when you have to attend functions during the day?

Blazer + Joggers

By | Style | 2 Comments

Hi Ladies!

Who else is still here for the jogger trend? I am!! What I love about joggers is that you can dress them up or down. You can rock them with tennis shoes to run errands or while enjoying weekend activities. Personally my favorite way to wear them is with a heel. This look is perfect for a casual Friday dress day at work. The blazer and low sandal with the heel gives the professional vibe. And the joggers are casual and comfortable also very fashion forward.

Now there is a caveat when wearing joggers to work even on a casual Friday. They need to be a nice pair of joggers. Not too tight, not too bright and definitely good quality. I love these by Kenzo. They’re black, high-end and they don’t hug the boo-tay too…LOL!!!

You know the drill by now. I’ve tagged the items i’m wearing below.
